END-AUGUST PALM OIL STOCKS NEAR 6-YEAR LOW

The Sun (Malaysia) - - SUNBIZ -

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s palm oil end-stocks in August fell to their lowest level in nearly six years as a surge in exports and lower-than-expected production growth shrunk inventories. Inventories fell a more-than-expected 17.3% from July to 1.46 million tonnes at end-August, Malaysian Palm Oil Board data showed yesterday, the lowest since January 2011 and the lowest stockpiles reported for August since 2009. This was also the largest month-on-month drop in stockpiles since early 2000. – Reuters
