Bel­gian in Hash run found dead

KUALA KUBU BARU: Po­lice have con­firmed there was no foul play in the death of a Bel­gian man whose body was found yes­ter­day in Bukit Tarik near Kam­pung Orang Asli Ker­ling here.

Hulu Se­lan­gor po­lice chief Supt R. Supra­ma­niam said the body of Thomas Jean Fran­cois, 34, ( pix) was found at 9.55am af­ter he was re­ported miss­ing while par­tic­i­pat­ing in the In­ter­na­tional Hash Chal­lenge in Se­lan­gor on Satur­day.

He said Fran­cois’ body was found about 15km from the route of the run.

“The vic­tim is be­lieved to have lost his way and fell dur­ing the run,” he said.

Fran­cois was among 88 par­tic­i­pants in the run which started at 7.30pm on Satur­day from Ladang Rasa to Lem­bah Beringin.

“All the par­tic­i­pants ar­rived at the fin­ish­ing line, ex­cept Fran­cois,” Supra­ma­niam said, adding that the par­tic­i­pants searched for the vic­tim af­ter find­ing him miss­ing.

Po­lice mounted a search af­ter a re­port was lodged by the Bel­gian Em­bassy at the Dang Wangi po­lice sta­tion.

Supra­ma­niam said Fran­cois’ body had been sent to Kuala Kubu Baru Hos­pi­tal for post-mortem. – Ber­nama
