The Sun (Malaysia) - - NEWS WITHOUT BORDERS -

KUALA LUMPUR: The King has stated he cannot interfere in efforts made by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM), said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak. He said he had been informed by Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah that he had granted an audience to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who is PPBM chairman, at Istana Anak Bukit, Alor Star, last week. Najib said in a statement the King had taken note of the issues raised by Mahathir but said he could not interfere. This was because the declaration made by PPBM did not comply with the Constitution as any action taken should go through Parliament and the election system – Bernama
