The Sun (Malaysia) - - NEWS WITHOUT BORDERS -

NEW DELHI: Indian and Pakistani forces exchanged fire on Tuesday in the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir, Indian officials said, two days after a militant attack killed 18 soldiers in the area. Indian officials said their military posts at the border town of Uri came under heavy fire from Pakistani forces shooting across the Line of Control, the military frontier which divides the disputed Kashmir region into two parts, one administered by India and the other by Pakistan. “Our forces retaliated and the exchange of fire continued for about an hour,” an army spokesman said. – dpa
