Hang Seng In­dex call war­rants en­joy bullish week

HANG SENG In­dex (HSI) call war­rants HSI-C36 and HSI-C30 both made it to the top 5 traded war­rants for the week, as the HSI Fu­tures In­dex en­joyed a bullish run. The volatilely traded in­dex closed in the green for the week, gain­ing 874 points or 3.8% weekon-week (w-o-w) to close at 24,084.

HSI-C36 and HSI-C30 tracked the un­der­ly­ing to gain 39.8% and 63.9% re­spec­tively.

Trad­ing in put war­rants over the HSI was qui­eter than usual, as the most ac­tive put war­rant HSI-H63 plunged 29.5% w-o-w.

Trad­ing on Bursa Malaysia was also muted as in­vestors took a breather ahead of the long week­end, with daily turnover fail­ing to breach RM2 bil­lion. War­rants turnover fell 26.5% w-o-w to RM186.8 mil­lion. Ac­tiv­ity re­mained fo­cused on sin­gle stocks.

War­rants over Felda Global Ven­tures Hold­ing (FGV) were again ac­tive, con­tribut­ing more than 14% of the week’s turnover. The un­der­ly­ing share price started the week strongly, gain­ing 2.7% by Tues­day, be­fore get­ting knocked back down to RM2.21. To­wards the end of the week, it re­cov­ered and closed 3.2% higher at RM2.28.

Among the war­rants over FGV, FGV-C16 and FGV-C15 came in first and sec­ond with RM12.5 mil­lion and RM11.2 mil­lion re­spec­tively. They closed 8.1% and 3.7% higher at RM0.200 and RM0.280 re­spec­tively.

The FBM KLCI Fu­tures In­dex started the week on a pos­i­tive note, gain­ing 1.3% in the first two days. It then traded range-bound for the

rest of the week be­fore end­ing 0.9% higher w-o-w at 1,681.50.

Newly listed put war­rant FBMKLCI-H97 was the most ac­tive war­rant over the lo­cal bourse with RM2.2 mil­lion traded. Due to its low ex­er­cise ra­tio of 250 to 1, the FBM KLCI Fu­tures In­dex only needs to move 2 points (or 4 ticks) for the war­rant to move by 1 tick.
