Hang Seng Index call warrants enjoy bullish week
HANG SENG Index (HSI) call warrants HSI-C36 and HSI-C30 both made it to the top 5 traded warrants for the week, as the HSI Futures Index enjoyed a bullish run. The volatilely traded index closed in the green for the week, gaining 874 points or 3.8% weekon-week (w-o-w) to close at 24,084.
HSI-C36 and HSI-C30 tracked the underlying to gain 39.8% and 63.9% respectively.
Trading in put warrants over the HSI was quieter than usual, as the most active put warrant HSI-H63 plunged 29.5% w-o-w.
Trading on Bursa Malaysia was also muted as investors took a breather ahead of the long weekend, with daily turnover failing to breach RM2 billion. Warrants turnover fell 26.5% w-o-w to RM186.8 million. Activity remained focused on single stocks.
Warrants over Felda Global Ventures Holding (FGV) were again active, contributing more than 14% of the week’s turnover. The underlying share price started the week strongly, gaining 2.7% by Tuesday, before getting knocked back down to RM2.21. Towards the end of the week, it recovered and closed 3.2% higher at RM2.28.
Among the warrants over FGV, FGV-C16 and FGV-C15 came in first and second with RM12.5 million and RM11.2 million respectively. They closed 8.1% and 3.7% higher at RM0.200 and RM0.280 respectively.

rest of the week before ending 0.9% higher w-o-w at 1,681.50.
Newly listed put warrant FBMKLCI-H97 was the most active warrant over the local bourse with RM2.2 million traded. Due to its low exercise ratio of 250 to 1, the FBM KLCI Futures Index only needs to move 2 points (or 4 ticks) for the warrant to move by 1 tick.
