Petronas awards warehouse job to Sinopec
PETALING JAYA: Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) has awarded an engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract to the Sinopec consortium for the construction of an automated storage and retrieval system warehouse for its petrochemical plants at Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC). The value of the award was not disclosed. In a statement yesterday, the stateowned oil major said it had inked the EPCC agreement with the Sinopec consortium that consists of Sinopec Engineering (Group) Co Ltd, Sinopec Shanghai Engineering Co Ltd and Sinopec Engineering Group Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
The contract also included other associated solid handling facilities for the ASRS warehouse.
It will be Petronas’ first automated warehouse capable of meeting a 21-day storage inventory for polymer products in PIC, namely polypropylene, linear low density polyethylene and flexible polyethylene.
The project is expected to be completed within 27 months.
