OVER 50 SCOOT­ERS GO UP IN FLAMES IN PARIS

BER­LIN: The charred metal frames of more than 50 scoot­ers and one car stood out­side Mont­par­nasse train sta­tion in cen­tral Paris Satur­day af­ter they were de­stroyed in a fire. The fire, which broke out at around 2:40am on Satur­day near the high-end Ho­tel Pull­man, con­sumed some 52 scoot­ers parked out­side the sta­tion, re­ports said. Twenty-one fire­fight­ers and six fire en­gines were de­ployed to put out the blaze, Le Parisien news­pa­per re­ported. Po­lice in the cap­i­tal were in­ves­ti­gat­ing how the blaze started, the re­port said. – dpa
