‘Red shirt’ attack on Bersih car slammed
PETALING JAYA: Social activist Hishamuddin Rais has condemned an attack on a Bersih 5 convoy by “red shirts” on Saturday.
He said while it is one’s right to protest, violent behaviour is unacceptable.
In the incident, Hishamuddin was in a car that was attacked by several red shirt individuals on motorcycles during the Lumut convoy as he and other Bersih leaders were on the way to distribute flyers.
A video of the incident on social media showed several red shirts attempting to smash the car windows and battering the car doors.
A Bersih flag attached to the car was also ripped off.
