‘Red shirt’ at­tack on Ber­sih car slammed

PETALING JAYA: So­cial ac­tivist Hishamud­din Rais has con­demned an at­tack on a Ber­sih 5 con­voy by “red shirts” on Satur­day.

He said while it is one’s right to protest, vi­o­lent be­hav­iour is un­ac­cept­able.

In the in­ci­dent, Hishamud­din was in a car that was at­tacked by sev­eral red shirt in­di­vid­u­als on mo­tor­cy­cles dur­ing the Lumut con­voy as he and other Ber­sih lead­ers were on the way to dis­trib­ute fly­ers.

A video of the in­ci­dent on so­cial me­dia showed sev­eral red shirts at­tempt­ing to smash the car win­dows and battering the car doors.

A Ber­sih flag at­tached to the car was also ripped off.
