BANGKOK: Thailand is considering testing all pregnant women for zika, the health ministry said yesterday, following confirmation last week of its first known cases of microcephaly linked to zika. The two confirmed cases were the first in the region. “The health minister has asked us to study whether this is necessary and cost-effective,” a health official said, referring to free tests for all pregnant women, which costs about 2,000 baht (RM240) but repeat tests are often needed. – Reuters
