Woman found killed after son ran amok
KUALA LUMPUR: Police made a gruesome discovery when they found the body of a murdered woman after her son ran amok with a bloodied parang into a police station near Taman Bukit Indah here yesterday.
It was an agonising moment for police investigators when they recovered the 49year-old single mother’s body sprawled in a pool of blood in the living room of an apartment unit in Jade Tower at about 3.50am yesterday.
Ampang district police chief ACP Hamzah Alias said initial investigations revealed that the 23-year-old suspect fled the scene and had gone to Bukit Indah police station, about 800m away from the apartment, and caused a ruckus there.
“I believe the suspect wanted to surrender. However, he ran amok and a scuffle broke out between him and other policemen,” he told reporters at the scene, adding that police managed to apprehend the suspect immediately.
Hamzah said policemen also recovered a bloodied parang from the suspect.
The mother was found with stab wounds on her torso and neck.
It is learnt that the suspect was high on drugs during the incident.
