Woman found killed af­ter son ran amok

KUALA LUMPUR: Po­lice made a grue­some dis­cov­ery when they found the body of a mur­dered woman af­ter her son ran amok with a blood­ied parang into a po­lice sta­tion near Ta­man Bukit In­dah here yes­ter­day.

It was an ag­o­nis­ing mo­ment for po­lice in­ves­ti­ga­tors when they re­cov­ered the 49year-old sin­gle mother’s body sprawled in a pool of blood in the liv­ing room of an apart­ment unit in Jade Tower at about 3.50am yes­ter­day.

Am­pang district po­lice chief ACP Hamzah Alias said ini­tial in­ves­ti­ga­tions re­vealed that the 23-year-old sus­pect fled the scene and had gone to Bukit In­dah po­lice sta­tion, about 800m away from the apart­ment, and caused a ruckus there.

“I be­lieve the sus­pect wanted to sur­ren­der. How­ever, he ran amok and a scuf­fle broke out be­tween him and other po­lice­men,” he told re­porters at the scene, adding that po­lice man­aged to ap­pre­hend the sus­pect im­me­di­ately.

Hamzah said po­lice­men also re­cov­ered a blood­ied parang from the sus­pect.

The mother was found with stab wounds on her torso and neck.

It is learnt that the sus­pect was high on drugs dur­ing the in­ci­dent.
