Robbed in front of guard post

PETALING JAYA: Po­lice are on the hunt for a sus­pect who at­tacked and robbed a woman driver in Ara Da­mansara here yes­ter­day.

The probe was ini­ti­ated af­ter a closed-cir­cuit TV (CCTV) cam­era record­ing of the in­ci­dent in front of the guard post of a res­i­den­tial area went vi­ral on so­cial me­dia.

In the minute-long clip recorded about 3.50am, two women in a car were seen ar­riv­ing at the guard post closely fol­lowed by an­other car.

At this point, a young man is seen com­ing out of the sec­ond car with a 2ft-long parang and rob­bing the woman driver.

It is learnt the guard on duty did not re­act to the sit­u­a­tion, prob­a­bly out of fear for his life as the sus­pect was seen wield­ing the parang at the guard post.

“Yes, we have a re­port on the in­ci­dent.

“sWe are now view­ing the CCTV footage and have ini­ti­ated a man­hunt to track down the sus­pect,” Petaling Jaya dis­trict po­lice chief ACP Mohd Zani Che Din told the­Sun. – By
