AP­PEALS COURT DE­CLARES MIS­TRIAL IN KAMDAR’S CASE

PETALING JAYA: The Court of Ap­peal Malaysia, via grounds of judge­ment, has de­clared a mis­trial on the dis­missal of Kamdar Group (M) Bhd’s claim against its largest share­holder Bip­in­chan­dra Bal­vantrai, former CEO Jayesh Kamdar Ra­jnikant and con­trac­tor Yap Kim Hong over the al­leged with­drawal of RM8.7 mil­lion from the group’s ac­counts. In a fil­ing with the stock ex­change, Kamdar said the Court of Ap­peal had or­dered to re­mit this case for re­hear­ing be­fore a dif­fer­ent judge in the High Court. Re­call that the fam­ily feud at Kamdar be­gan when the group is­sued a writ of sum­mons to­gether with state­ment of claims in Oc­to­ber 2014 against the trio in or­der to re­cover the RM8.7 mil­lion fund.
