SEOUL: North Korea has purged its viceforeig­n minister as punishment for the recent defection of its envoy to Britain, South Korean media said yesterday. JoongAng Ilbo, quoting an anonymous source familiar with North Korean affairs, said Kung Sok-Ung had been fired from his post and expelled to a rural farming area with his family. – AFP
