SIX PEO­PLE FOUND WITH HANDS CUT OFF IN MEX­ICO

MEX­ICO CITY: Five men and a woman had their hands cut off yes­ter­day in Mex­ico in a sus­pected act of vig­i­lante jus­tice. The vic­tims were found near Guadala­jara city, a re­port said, adding the hands were left at the scene in plas­tic bags. A sev­enth per­son was found dead. A note found at the scene signed by the “Elite Anti-Rat Group” claimed that the vic­tims were crim­i­nals, sug­gest­ing they were tar­geted by vig­i­lantes. The word “rat” is com­monly used in Mex­ico for thieves. – dpa
