ECUADOR CUTS AS­SANGE’S IN­TER­NET AC­CESS

WASH­ING­TON: Anti-se­crecy group Wik­iLeaks said yes­ter­day its fugi­tive founder Ju­lian As­sange’s in­ter­net was shut down by the gov­ern­ment of Ecuador, de­flect­ing blame from the US or Bri­tain. “We can con­firm Ecuador cut off As­sange’s in­ter­net ac­cess Satur­day, shortly af­ter pub­li­ca­tion of (Hil­lary) Clin­ton’s Goldman Sachs speechs,” a statement said. As­sange has lived in Ecuador’s Lon­don em­bassy since June 2012 af­ter be­ing granted asy­lum by the Ecuado­ran gov­ern­ment. – Reuters
