WARNOCK GOES UNBEATEN
NEIL WARNOCK continued his unbeaten start to life as Cardiff boss thanks to Peter Whittingham’s first-half strike. The Bluebirds, who won the first game under their new manager against Bristol City last Friday, were a goal to the good after just nine minutes thanks to Whittingham’s freekick. Sam Hutchinson dragged down Aron Gunnarsson on the edge of the box and Whittingham – who netted a penalty in the win over the Robins – did the rest. Wednesday were forced to bring on 21-year-old sub keeper Cameron Dawson after losing Keiren Westwood to injury 13 minutes before the break. The visitors’ best chance of the half was a fabulous strike from Adam Reach that Ben Amos did well to keep out. Junior Hoilett almost made it two eight minutes into the second half but his shot was well saved by Dawson. However, the youngster was beaten in the 55th minute when Danny Pudil arrived at the far post to level the game. Sean Morrison’s howler five minutes later almost gifted Wednesday a second goal but Reach fired woefully wide.
