Op­po­si­tion MPs rapped for walk­ing out

KLUANG: The ac­tion of the op­po­si­tion Mem­bers of Par­lia­ment in stag­ing a walk­out dur­ing the bud­get tabling has been de­scribed as an em­bar­rass­ment to them­selves.

Umno vice-pres­i­dent Datuk Seri Hisham­mud­din Hus­sein said they de­lib­er­ately walked out when the whole world was watch­ing the pre­sen­ta­tion by Prime Min­is­ter Datuk Seri Na­jib Ab­dul Razak.

“Their ac­tion is in­de­cent be­cause never in the his­tory of the coun­try have MPs walked out dur­ing the bud­get pre­sen­ta­tion,” the de­fence min­is­ter told re­porters here af­ter a thanks­giv­ing cer­e­mony to cel­e­brate Felda Ulu Penggeli as the win­ner of the na­tional Felda Vil­lages Beau­ti­fi­ca­tion Award in Ulu Pengge­lin­ear here yes­ter­day.

Hisham­mud­din said the sin­cer­ity and hon­esty of these MPs were doubt­ful as their ac­tion is seen as ir­re­spon­si­ble.

Var­i­ous quar­ters, in­clud­ing PAS elected rep­re­sen­ta­tives, have slammed Tan Sri Muhyid­din Yassin and Pakatan Hara­pan MPs for stag­ing the walk­out. – Ber­nama
