Water supply back to normal in most affected areas
PETALING JAYA: Water supply in the Petaling, Sepang, and Hulu Langat districts has mostly been restored while supply to the Kuala Langat district will be restored by today.
Syabas corporate communications chief Amin Lin Abdullah said water supply was restored in stages since the Sungai Semenyih water treatment plant resumed operations after it was shut down again due to contamination.
“As of this morning (Oct 30) almost all affected areas have recovered except for areas in Kuala Langat.
“Water supply is being restored in stages due to a four-fold increase in demand for water from service reservoirs, storage tanks at premises and panic storage by consumers,” Amin told theSun.
Meanwhile, he said, water tankers are being sent to areas still without water in Kuala Langat and this would be continued until water supply is completely restored today.
The areas affected include Taman Gembira, Taman Sri Cheeding, Taman Sentosa, Taman Banting Mewah, Bukit Cheeding, Kampung Kelanang and Taman Yayasan. Jenjarom new village, Taman Jaya Utama and Taman Dato Hormat are among other areas.
