7 Colombians among 10 charged with theft, robbery
KUALA LUMPUR: Seven Colombian and three local men were charged yesterday in the magistrate’s court here with being members of a break-in and robbery gang called “Latino Dago”.
No plea was recorded from the accused – Fredy Ismael Bernal Gonzalez, Jose Aimando Rocha, Martines Serano Dagoberto, Jeifry Rohas Romero, Jhon Alexander Rocha Lugo, Jorge Alexander Sabugai Pena and Anderson Marcel Valencia Cubillos, aged between 30 and 45.
The three locals were hotel agent Redhuan Mahiddin, 50, his car salesman younger brother Abdul Rahman, 47, and Mohd Rizal Md Sahak, 41, a car wash operator.
They allegedly committed the offences in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Kedah between January and Sept 22.
The charge, under Section 130V(1) of the Penal Code, carries a maximum imprisonment of 20 years.
Redhuan and Abdul Rahman were represented by counsel Mohd Yusri Mohd Yusoff, while the rest were unrepresented.
Deputy public prosecutor Mohamad Mustaffa P. Kunyalan did not propose bail as all 10 accused were being detained under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012.
