ISLAMABAD: An Afghan woman, whose pic­ture was taken in a Pak­istan refugee camp in the 1980s and be­came Na­tional Geo­graphic mag­a­zine’s most fa­mous cover, is to be freed on bail days af­ter be­ing held in Pak­istan for fraud, a min­is­ter said on Sun­day. Shar­bat Gula was arrested on Wed­nes­day for liv­ing in the coun­try on fraud­u­lent iden­tity pa­pers fol­low­ing a two-year in­ves­ti­ga­tion on her and her hus­band, who has ab­sconded. – AFP
