Con­sulate-gen­eral in Xi’an

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has es­tab­lished a con­sulate-gen­eral in Xi’an, Shaanxi Prov­ince in China.

In a state­ment yes­ter­day, the For­eign Min­istry said it was the sixth Malaysian con­sulate-gen­eral in that coun­try, with Tan Li Lung ap­pointed as con­sul-gen­eral, cov­er­ing the con­sular dis­tricts of Gansu Prov­ince and Ningxia Hui Au­ton­o­mous Re­gion.

“Tan’s broad ex­pe­ri­ence will en­hance peo­ple-to-peo­ple con­tact as well as en­cour­age ex­changes in busi­ness and in­vest­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties be­tween the two coun­tries.”

The of­fice is lo­cated at the Shangri-La Ho­tel in Keji Road, and will be open Mon­day to Fri­day from 9am to 5pm. – Ber­nama
