CLOSENESS CAN HELP COUNTER TERRORISM

The Sun (Malaysia) - - NEWS WITHOUT BORDERS -

KLUANG: Closeness among Asean countries built through joint military exercises each year has forged regional understanding, which could help in the fight against Islamic State threats in the region. Army field commander Lt-Gen Datuk Seri Zulkiple Kassim said Malaysia had conducted joint military exercises with almost all Asean member countries. “The joint exercises are held each year to build regional understanding. It is one of the platforms for us (in facing regional threats),” he said. – Bernama
