FINISHED your SPM examination and clueless about your next move? Make the early transition from high school to postsecondary education through DISTED College’s preuniversity preparatory programmes, commencing in January 2017.
DISTED’s School of PreUniversity Studies offers two globally-recognised programmes in Cambridge ALevel and South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE International), which would grant students access to degree programmes from most universities locally and worldwide as well.
The Cambridge A-Level is a 100% exam-based programme that is offered in both Science and Arts streams. It consists of two parts: Advanced Subsidiary (or better known as AS Level) and A2 Level.
SACE International programme, on the other hand, is highly reputable for its quality and relevance to tertiary education worldwide that requires thinking and reflection. The programme is 70% based on college-assessed coursework and 30% of the marks are based on final examinations that is set and marked by the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) Board.
Students are able to complete their Cambridge ALevel or SACE International programme in the fast-track route of 12 months or 18 months, depending on their learning pace and needs.
Besides pre-university programmes, DISTED offers diploma programmes in accounting, business, computing, creative multimedia and hospitality management. These programmes, which combine theoretical knowledge with current trends and practice to develop students with the relevant skills and knowledge for the industry, will generally take two years for completion of studies.
Seven of the diploma programmes are dualcertification programmes, where DISTED diploma shall be awarded together with UKawarded Business and Technology Education Council Higher National Diploma (BTEC HND) upon students’ completion of studies. The BTEC HND is recognised by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and most of the leading universities worldwide.
Graduates of these diploma programmes can then articulate into the second year of the 3+0 Staffordshire University (United Kingdom) Bachelor’s degree programmes which are conducted locally at DISTED as well.
The college also delivers the widely recognised 3+0 Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) programme in collaboration with HELP University Malaysia and is a Gold Approved Learning Partner for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) programme.
