THE government is investigating claims made by Philippines’ National Liberation Front (MNLF) chairman Nur Misuari that a Malaysian leader was involved in kidnap-for-ransom activities in Sabah. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim said appropriate action would be taken if the allegation of involvement is proven. “The matter is being investigated.” He was replying to Datuk Marcus @ Makin Mojigoh (BNPutatan) who wanted a clarification on the claim by Nur Misuari who had on Thursday alleged that a Malaysian leader was involved in the kidnap of 21 foreigners in Sipadan, Sabah, in 2000.
