M’SIA NOT MATCH-FIX­ING HUB: IGP

PETALING JAYA: Po­lice yes­ter­day re­futed claims that Malaysia has over­taken Sin­ga­pore as the new hub for sports match-fix­ing in the South­east Asian re­gion. In­spec­tor-General of Po­lice Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said po­lice have not re­ceived in­for­ma­tion on such al­le­ga­tions, ei­ther from world foot­ball body FIFA, the Asian Foot­ball Con­fed­er­a­tion or any other source. “We have taken ac­tive mea­sures to main­tain in­tegrity in the sport, and we will con­tinue to do so,” he said in a state­ment yes­ter­day.
