WOMAN DIES AF­TER BE­ING TRAPPED IN FLOUR MIXER

JO­HOR BARU: A female fac­tory worker man­ning a flour mixer at her work­place at Jalan Sri Wangi, Ta­man Perindus­trian Desa Plen­tong, Ban­dar Baru Per­mas Jaya, was killed when she was trapped in the ma­chine here yes­ter­day. South Jo­hor Baru po­lice chief ACP Su­laiman Salleh said in the 12.43pm in­ci­dent, the right hand of Nori­dah Nazir, aged 42, got caught inside the mixer, re­sult­ing in her body be­ing dragged into the grinder. “The vic­tim died on the spot. Po­lice do not sus­pect foul play,” he said. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are still on­go­ing to de­ter­mine the cause of the in­ci­dent. The body has been sent to the Sul­tan Is­mail Hos­pi­tal for post-mortem. – Ber­nama
