Author: Musa Nuwayri Publisher: Dubook Press ISBN: 9789670723471

THIS is the same author who wrote Tangisan Akhir Di Bumi Jordan, and this time, Musa shares his experiences helping displaced Syrian refugees in Jordan.

The book begins with Musa recounting his days at a boarding school, before explaining how he first got involved in charity activities.

His first-hand accounts are meant to be an eye-opener about the realities of life as a refugee. Through Musa’s descriptions, we can feel the refugees’ pain.

They live hand-to-mouth, discriminated against by the locals who charge them high house rentals. Even the children need to take up jobs to ease their families’ financial burdens.

Musa’s charity group faced many challenges and hardships along the way.

While seeking donations, the group was accused of being con artists, and even cheated by the foundation it was working for.

The members were forced to sign agreements without being allowed to read them, and were threatened with death if they refused.

These accounts show a different side of the Arab community, highlighting the ones who are sly, greedy and willing to do anything for money. But Musa and his group are willing to endure all of this just to help the Syrian refugees. – Nurasyiah
