I HATE it when an interesting story is left hanging because you have to wait for the next instalment.

Flamecaster tells the tale of destitute prince Adrian sul’Han, better known as Ash, and Jenny Bandelow, a girl with a mysterious mark on her neck, who band together to fight a ruthless king.

The son of the Queen of Fells, Ash goes into hiding after his father is killed in front of him. The queendom is in chaos and Ash, a trained healer with a powerful gift of magic, has a thirst to avenge his father against the man responsible, the King of Arden.

Meanwhile, after seeing her best friends killed in cold blood, Jenny has become a saboteur against the King of Arden. She learns that there’s a relentless search for a girl with a mark like hers, and struggles to avoid capture.

Fate throws Ash and Jenna together, and they forge a bond through their hatred of the king. Set in the world of the Seven Realms series, Flamecaster can stand on its own even if you are not familiar with the previous books, and takes the reader on a magical journey of dark magic, mystical creatures, not to mention mystery, romance and action.

It’s an absorbing tale that makes you want more. Unfortunately, you’ll just have to wait until the author is ready to release the next book. – K.K. Wong
