Peri­sai Petroleum served with claims to­talling RM1.18m

PE­TAL­ING JAYA: Fi­nan­cially trou­bled Peri­sai Petroleum Te­knologi Bhd’s 51%-owned sub­sidiary, SJR Ma­rine (L) Ltd, was served yes­ter­day with writs of sum­mons for claims to­talling US$278,114 (RM1.18 mil­lion).

It was served an ad­mi­ralty in per­sonam writ of sum­mons by Emas Off­shore (M) Sdn Bhd (EOM) for a US$146,925 claim for char­ter rates and other amounts al­legedly due un­der char­ter­party agree­ments be­tween EOM and SJR Ma­rine.

SJR Ma­rine was also served with a writ of sum­mons by Emas Off­shore Con­struc­tion and Pro­duc­tion Pte Ltd (EOCP) for a US$131,189 claim, be­ing project man­age­ment ser­vices al­legedly pro­vided by EOCP for the ben­e­fit of SJR Ma­rine.

“The com­pany is seek­ing le­gal ad­vice and in­tends to chal­lenge and de­fend the claims un­der the writ of sum­mons,” Peri­sai Petroleum said in a stock ex­change fil­ing.

Case man­age­ment for the matters is fixed for Nov 22, 2016 and Dec 6, 2016.

Peri­sai Petroleum said it will make fur­ther an­nounce­ments on the mat­ter when ma­te­rial de­vel­op­ments arise.

EOM and EOCP are wholly owned sub­sidiaries of Emas Off­shore Ltd, which holds the re­main­ing 49% of the eq­uity in­ter­est in SJR Ma­rine.
