Dis­ci­plinary ac­tion against 31,230 civil ser­vants taken

KUALA LUMPUR: A to­tal of 31,230 civil ser­vants had dis­ci­plinary ac­tion taken against them be­tween 2010 and July this year.

Min­is­ter in the Prime Min­is­ter’s Depart­ment Datuk Seri Aza­lina Oth­man Said said from the to­tal, 5,778 had their ser­vices ter­mi­nated.

“An­other 152 were de­moted and would not be con­sid­ered for pro­mo­tion for 48 months, while 1,168 had their salary cut and would not be con­sid­ered for pro­mo­tion for 36 months,” she said in re­ply to a ques­tion from Er Teck Hwa (DAP-Bakri).

Aza­lina also said that from the to­tal, 2,369 civil ser­vants had their salary in­cre­ment halted and would not be con­sid­ered for pro­mo­tion for 30 months.

An­other 4,295 were fined seven days of their emol­u­ment and would not be con­sid­ered for pro­mo­tion for 18 months, Aza­lina said in a writ­ten re­ply read by the deputy ed­u­ca­tion min­is­ter.
