Kitamura to helm Doorman movie
JAPANESE director Ryuhei Kitamura ( left) has been confirmed to join upcoming action-thriller movie Doorman, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The award-winning filmmaker will helm the project, which will tell the story of a woman who returns from combat and befriends a family in New York City.
When a gang of thieves attempts to rob the family of their valuables, the woman steps in to defend the family.
Kitamura is well-known in his native territory and gained acclaim for his 2000 cult action movie, Versus.
He is also known for his manga adaptations of Azumi and Godzilla: Final Wars.
He made his American directorial debut with the 2008 horror film Midnight Meat Train starring Bradley Cooper.
Kitamura also directed the 2012 American horror movie No One Lives with Luke Evans, and most recently, the Japanese film Lupin the 3rd. – AFP-Relaxnews
