Ki­ta­mura to helm Door­man movie

JA­PANESE di­rec­tor Ryuhei Ki­ta­mura ( left) has been con­firmed to join up­com­ing ac­tion-thriller movie Door­man, re­ports The Hol­ly­wood Reporter.

The award-winning film­maker will helm the project, which will tell the story of a woman who re­turns from com­bat and be­friends a fam­ily in New York City.

When a gang of thieves at­tempts to rob the fam­ily of their valu­ables, the woman steps in to de­fend the fam­ily.

Ki­ta­mura is well-known in his na­tive ter­ri­tory and gained ac­claim for his 2000 cult ac­tion movie, Ver­sus.

He is also known for his manga adap­ta­tions of Azumi and Godzilla: Fi­nal Wars.

He made his American di­rec­to­rial de­but with the 2008 hor­ror film Mid­night Meat Train star­ring Bradley Cooper.

Ki­ta­mura also di­rected the 2012 American hor­ror movie No One Lives with Luke Evans, and most re­cently, the Ja­panese film Lupin the 3rd. – AFP-Re­laxnews
