Sul­tan Nazrin takes part in birth­day run

KUALA KANGSAR: Sul­tan of Perak Sul­tan Nazrin Shah and Raja Per­maisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim yes­ter­day par­tic­i­pated in the Sul­tan of Perak Birth­day Run at Dataran Pav­il­lion here.

Also present were Perak Men­tri Be­sar Datuk Seri Dr Zam­bry Abd Kadir and wife Datin Seri Sari­pah Zulk­i­fli and for­mer Perak men­tri be­sar and for­mer De­wan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Ramli Ngah Talib.

Some 5,000 peo­ple took part in the run, held in con­junc­tion with Sul­tan Nazrin’s birth­day which was cel­e­brated on Nov 4.

The sul­tan flagged off the 15km and 10km cat­e­gories while a 2km run for VIPs was flagged off by his sis­ter Raja Datuk Seri Yong Sofia.

The event, which started at 6.20am, also saw the pres­ence of Rio Par­a­lympics gold medal win­ners Mo­hamad Ridzuan Mo­hamad Puzi and Ab­dul Latif Romly and bronze medal­list Siti Noor Ra­diah Is­mail. – Ber­nama
