MIN­ISTRY PROBES SPM EXAM PA­PERS LEAK

PU­TRA­JAYA: The Ed­u­ca­tion Min­istry is in­ves­ti­gat­ing al­le­ga­tions in­volv­ing the sale of Si­jil Pe­la­jaran Malaysia (SPM) ex­am­i­na­tion pa­pers by a syn­di­cate. “The min­istry is in­ves­ti­gat­ing the al­le­ga­tion. Ac­tion will be taken and those found re­spon­si­ble will be pros­e­cuted by the au­thor­i­ties,” it said in a state­ment yes­ter­day. The min­istry said it is tak­ing a se­ri­ous view of the al­le­ga­tion, re­ported by the China Press on Sun­day. On Nov 9, the min­istry de­nied al­le­ga­tions of a leak of the History Pa­per 1 and 2, as spec­u­lated on so­cial me­dia. It said an in­ves­ti­ga­tion con­ducted by the Ex­am­i­na­tions Board found no leak­age and can­di­dates need not re­sit the two pa­pers.
