Giv­ing di­a­bet­ics a help­ing hand

PETAL­ING JAYA: Some 200 par­tic­i­pants had an in­sight into how to man­age and pre­vent di­a­betes when Nes­tle Health Sci­ence cel­e­brated the World Di­a­betes Day in col­lab­o­ra­tion with Di­a­betes Malaysia (DM).

The event took place at Me­nara Bata, PJ Trade Cen­tre in Petal­ing Jaya on Satur­day.

Dur­ing the launch, Nes­tle Health Sci­ence and Di­a­betes Malaysia re­newed their com­mit­ment to be a force for change by sup­port­ing peo­ple liv­ing with di­a­betes to take charge of their health and pre­vent the dis­ease from af­fect­ing their qual­ity of life.

Through­out the fun-filled morn­ing, par­tic­i­pants were taken on a jour­ney of learn­ing and dis­cov­ery as they mas­tered all the com­po­nents to help man­age their blood su­gar.

They also took part in an en­er­getic zumba work­out be­sides hav­ing blood glu­cose test­ing and con­sul­ta­tion.

While they were taught about healthy eat­ing and ex­er­cise, a cook­ing demo was held much to the de­light of the par­tic­i­pants by in­ter­na­tional culi­nary ex­pert, Chef Wan, who crafted two dishes for peo­ple with di­a­betes.
