Devils, Gunners lining up Portuguese Andre Silva
MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly weighing up a move for Portuguese striker Andre Silva.
The 21-year-old has caught the eye of Europe’s leading clubs with his performances for Porto and his country this season.
Only last month, Arsenal sent out scouts to run the rule over Silva, who is thought to be worth £53m.
With Alexis Sanchez yet to agree a new deal, Arsene Wenger is keeping his options open.
Jose Mourinho is keen to bring in some fresh faces to Manchester United in January, although it is thought he could axe eight players.
United spent over £150m in the summer, but things haven’t gone according to plan on the pitch.
And according to the Daily Record, United are keen on Silva, who was only called up to the national side in August.
It is believed Mourinho wants to add some much-needed firepower to his attack.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has seen his goalscoring rate slow down in recent weeks, while Marcus Rashford has been played out of position on the wing.
The report suggests United are keen to avoid a repeat of the Renato Sanches saga.
United hesitated over a transfer fee, but the player joined Bayern Munich for £27.5m last summer.
