KUALA LUMPUR: Unusually heavy rain and work by contractors on an LRT project to move a portion of a drain were among the main causes of the floods at the Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP) on Tuesday, according to its concessionaire Lingkaran Trans Kota Holding Berhad (Litrak).

Its chief executive officer Sazally Saidi said a probe into the flooding was done with representatives from the Subang Jaya Municipal Council, the Malaysian Highway Authority and IOI Business Centre.

“Rainfall that day was recorded at 81mm, which is categorised by the Drainage and Irrigation Department as unusually heavy. This caused the water level in the Klang River to exceed the normal range,” Sazally said. – Bernama
