> Steamed potato cake, made from purple Japanese sweet potatoes and can be eaten with gula Melaka
coconut milk, salt and sugar. Stir with a whisk to combine the ingredients evenly. 2. Pour cubed sweet potato into the batter. If you are using mashed sweet potato, be sure to mix thoroughly until everything is combined evenly. 3. Grease a round 8in pan, or any equivalent square pan, with some cooking oil. 4. Pour the mixture into the
pan. 5. Place the pan into a steamer. Place a towel in between the cover of the steamer and the pan to absorb the condensed steam and prevent the water from falling into the cake. Steam for an hour. (For a shorter steaming time, use an electric pressure cooker under ‘steam’ mode. It takes approximately 20 minutes to cook.) 6. When done, remove the pan from the steamer and leave it aside to cool. 7. To serve, cut the cake into slices according to your desired size and shape. 8. Serve the slices with some honey or melted gula Melaka.
