BURSA Malaysia ended lower yesterday amid a subdued market tone and lack of fresh catalysts. The FBM KLCI slipped 0.86 point to 1,626.77. Overall, losers beat winners 397 to 332 with 371 counters unchanged, 616 untraded and 16 suspended.
Hong Leong Investment Bank Research said in a note yesterday: “We reiterate our view that the FBM KLCI’s near-term outlook remains challenging on the back of uncertainties in the equity, bond and currency markets.”
Among the heavyweights, TNB added 2 sen to RM14.22, Maybank gained 9 sen to RM7.75, Public Bank lost 10 sen to RM19.56 and Petronas Chemicals rose 10 sen to RM6.93. – Bernama
