Sub­dued trad­ing

BURSA Malaysia ended lower yes­ter­day amid a sub­dued mar­ket tone and lack of fresh cat­a­lysts. The FBM KLCI slipped 0.86 point to 1,626.77. Over­all, losers beat win­ners 397 to 332 with 371 coun­ters un­changed, 616 un­traded and 16 sus­pended.

Hong Leong In­vest­ment Bank Re­search said in a note yes­ter­day: “We re­it­er­ate our view that the FBM KLCI’s near-term out­look re­mains chal­leng­ing on the back of un­cer­tain­ties in the eq­uity, bond and cur­rency mar­kets.”

Among the heavy­weights, TNB added 2 sen to RM14.22, May­bank gained 9 sen to RM7.75, Pub­lic Bank lost 10 sen to RM19.56 and Petronas Chem­i­cals rose 10 sen to RM6.93. – Ber­nama
