Probe into Pu­chong gold­smith rob­bery

SERDANG: Po­lice are still in­ves­ti­gat­ing a gold­smith shop rob­bery in Pu­chong where a gang of rob­bers made off with jew­ellery worth about RM100,000.

The in­ci­dent hap­pened at about 11am on Satur­day.

Serdang district po­lice chief ACP Me­gat Mohd Amin­ud­din Me­gat Alias said po­lice are gath­er­ing ev­i­dence at the scene and go­ing through CCTV record­ings.

Dur­ing the Ber­sih 5 rally at KL city cen­tre that day, six men wear­ing mo­tor­cy­cle helmets and vests robbed the out­let at the ground floor of a hy­per­mar­ket.

Four rob­bers barged into the shop, while another kept watch in a car as his ac­com­plices smashed the show­cases with ham­mers and grabbed jew­ellery.

The case is be­ing in­ves­ti­gated un­der Sec­tion 395 of the Pe­nal Code for armed gang rob­bery.
