SEGAMAT: The 11-mem­ber in­quiry com­mit­tee on the re­cent fire at Sul­tanah Ami­nah Hospi­tal, Johor Baru, will hold its first meet­ing soon, said Health Min­is­ter Datuk Seri Dr S. Subra­ma­niam. They are tasked to look into what­ever weak­nesses in the hospi­tal man­age­ment sys­tem and to ad­vise the Health Min­istry and other agen­cies to avoid a sim­i­lar in­ci­dent in fu­ture, he told re­porters af­ter open­ing an in­te­grated mega go­tong roy­ong to fight aedes here yes­ter­day. – Ber­nama chair­man Datuk Hasni Mo­hamad. On re­al­is­ing this, he said the com­mit­tee had de­cided to es­tab­lish a Con­trac­tors’ Ca­pac­ity De­vel­op­ment Cen­tre to ex­pose and pre­pare con­trac­tors for the mega projects in the state. “We also have the Com­mis­sion­ing Pro­gramme for Con­struc­tion Site Su­per­vi­sors and Qual­ity En­hance­ment Sem­i­nars for Con­trac­tors. – Ber­nama
