AUSSIE NURSE HELD IN CAM­BO­DIA

PH­NOM PENH: An Aus­tralian nurse and fer­til­ity spe­cial­ist has been ar­rested for al­legedly run­ning an il­le­gal sur­ro­gacy ser­vice in Cam­bo­dia, its anti-hu­man traf­fick­ing po­lice said yes­ter­day. The ar­rest was made just weeks af­ter Cam­bo­dia banned com­mer­cial sur­ro­gacy. Tammy Davis-Charles, 49, was held on Fri­day along with two Cam­bo­di­ans. Po­lice said she was an in­ter­me­di­ary in sur­ro­gacy, charg­ing Aus­tralians want­ing chil­dren US$50,000 (RM220,000) for each re­quest. – AFP
