Bersih, Red Shirts detainees released
KUALA LUMPUR: Six Bersih leaders and a Red Shirt leader who were arrested on Saturday over illegal rallies in the city were released yesterday.
They were PKR vice-president and Batu MP, Tian Chua, Seremban MP Anthony Loke, Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin, Pasir Pinji state assemblyman Howard Lee Chuan How and activists Fahmi Reza and Hishammuddin Rais.
Also released were Red Shirt leader and Umno Youth exco member Datuk Armand Azha Abu Hanifa.
Kuala Lumpur CID chief SAC Rusdi Mohd Isa confirmed their release but declined to comment further.
Those still detained were Bersih chairman Maria Chin and Red Shirt leaders Datuk Seri Jamal Md Yunos and Ariffin Abu Bakar.
A total of 20 leaders and activitists had been arrested since Friday. – Bernama
