Ber­sih, Red Shirts de­tainees re­leased

KUALA LUMPUR: Six Ber­sih lead­ers and a Red Shirt leader who were ar­rested on Satur­day over il­le­gal ral­lies in the city were re­leased yes­ter­day.

They were PKR vice-pres­i­dent and Batu MP, Tian Chua, Serem­ban MP An­thony Loke, Am­pang MP Zu­raida Ka­marud­din, Pasir Pinji state as­sem­bly­man Howard Lee Chuan How and ac­tivists Fahmi Reza and Hisham­mud­din Rais.

Also re­leased were Red Shirt leader and Umno Youth exco mem­ber Datuk Ar­mand Azha Abu Han­ifa.

Kuala Lumpur CID chief SAC Rusdi Mohd Isa con­firmed their re­lease but de­clined to com­ment fur­ther.

Those still de­tained were Ber­sih chair­man Maria Chin and Red Shirt lead­ers Datuk Seri Ja­mal Md Yunos and Arif­fin Abu Bakar.

A to­tal of 20 lead­ers and ac­tivi­tists had been ar­rested since Fri­day. – Ber­nama
