Policeman shot in thigh

PETALING JAYA: An en­counter with three for­eign­ers ended with a policeman be­ing shot in the thigh at Per­siaran In­dus­tri Ban­dar Sri Da­mansara near here yes­ter­day.

The policeman was on pa­trol when he spot­ted three men, be­lieved to be three Africans in a white car at a petrol sta­tion.

“When he ap­proached the car, one of the pas­sen­gers whipped out a pis­tol and shot him,” a source said.

The gun­man and his ac­com­plices then fled. The car was later found aban­doned a few kilo­me­tres from the petrol sta­tion.

The vic­tim who was rushed to Sun­gai Bu­loh Hospi­tal is re­ported to be in sta­ble con­di­tion.

PJ deputy po­lice chief Supt Mohd Ali Thamby con­firmed the in­ci­dent.
