Charged with trafficking four Thais for sex
IPOH: A 59-year-old kindergarten employee claimed trial at a sessions court here to four counts of trafficking in four Thai women for sexual exploitation.
Pak Soh Kuen from Taman Harmoni here was charged under Section 12 of the AntiTrafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007. She was said to have committed the offence with another person still at large.
She was charged with exploiting:
Suwana Chankham at Lucky Hotel, Jalan C.M. Yussuff, Ipoh, at 3.15pm between March and Aug 18, 2016.
Natanicha Jaimoon at Lucky Hotel, Jalan C.M. Yussuff, Ipoh, at 3.15pm between Aug 8 and Aug, 2016.
Duangjai Kanenok at Refleksologi Lucky at 79, C.M. Yussuff at 3.15pm between Aug 8 and 18, 2016.
Chinda Phonsaennok at Refleksologi Lucky at 79, C.M. Yussuff at 3.15pm between early Aug and Aug 18, 2016.
Deputy public prosecutor Muhamad Fauzi Md Yusof told the court it was a serious offence and thus not bailable.
Defence counsel Mahinderjit Singh asked judge Ikmal Hisham Mohd Tajuddin to consider imposing a lower bail as his client had to take care of her two children.
The judge set bail of RM5,000 for each of the four offences and fixed Dec 7 for mention.
