Charged with traf­fick­ing four Thais for sex

IPOH: A 59-year-old kinder­garten em­ployee claimed trial at a ses­sions court here to four counts of traf­fick­ing in four Thai women for sex­ual ex­ploita­tion.

Pak Soh Kuen from Ta­man Har­moni here was charged un­der Sec­tion 12 of the An­tiTraf­fick­ing in Per­sons and Anti-Smug­gling of Mi­grants Act 2007. She was said to have com­mit­ted the of­fence with an­other per­son still at large.

She was charged with ex­ploit­ing:

Suwana Chankham at Lucky Ho­tel, Jalan C.M. Yus­suff, Ipoh, at 3.15pm be­tween March and Aug 18, 2016.

Natanicha Jaimoon at Lucky Ho­tel, Jalan C.M. Yus­suff, Ipoh, at 3.15pm be­tween Aug 8 and Aug, 2016.

Duang­jai Ka­nenok at Re­flek­sologi Lucky at 79, C.M. Yus­suff at 3.15pm be­tween Aug 8 and 18, 2016.

Chinda Phon­saen­nok at Re­flek­sologi Lucky at 79, C.M. Yus­suff at 3.15pm be­tween early Aug and Aug 18, 2016.

Deputy pub­lic pros­e­cu­tor Muhamad Fauzi Md Yu­sof told the court it was a se­ri­ous of­fence and thus not bail­able.

De­fence coun­sel Mahin­der­jit Singh asked judge Ik­mal Hisham Mohd Ta­jud­din to con­sider im­pos­ing a lower bail as his client had to take care of her two chil­dren.

The judge set bail of RM5,000 for each of the four of­fences and fixed Dec 7 for men­tion.
