MIC OKAY WITH ‘WINNABLE CAN­DI­DATES’ PRO­POSAL

KUALA LUMPUR: MIC ac­cepted the pro­posal that seat dis­tri­bu­tion among the Barisan Na­sional (BN) com­po­nent par­ties in the 14th gen­eral elec­tion be made by giv­ing pri­or­ity to the as­pects of winnable can­di­dates well-liked by the peo­ple. As such, MIC pres­i­dent Datuk Seri Dr S. Subra­ma­niam said MIC would look for qual­ity and ca­pa­ble can­di­dates to en­sure the vic­tory of BN. “We ad­here to the prin­ci­ple that what­ever de­ci­sion is made by BN is based on con­sen­sus, in­clud­ing matters re­lated to seat dis­tri­bu­tion in the com­ing gen­eral elec­tion,” he told re­porters af­ter the In­dian Com­mu­nity Blueprint Di­a­logue here yes­ter­day. – Ber­nama
