Skuad Sayang to help in GE14 campaigns

The Sun (Malaysia) - - NEWS WITHOUT BORDERS -

KUALA LUMPUR: Skuad Sayang patron Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, who is the prime minister’s wife, has urged Wanita Umno members to double their efforts when campaigning for the upcoming 14th general election (GE14).

Skuad Sayang is a voluntary social organisation with members comprising women from Umno and Barisan Nasional.

She cited Skuad Sayang’s “personal touch”, which can be used as a guide to garner the rakyat’s support for the party when gearing up for GE14.

“With more than three million Wanita members as part of the largest political party in Malaysia, it is a force to be reckoned with due to their social welfare efforts,” she said, adding that women have an advantage with their “gentle touch”.

She advised them to utilise social media to enhance communications with the public as it is used as a primary platform for news.

Rosmah cited United States president-elect Donald Trump’s win in the country’s election, and attributed it to his communications skills.

She was speaking to some 190 Wanita wing division chiefs here yesterday during a Skuad Sayang national-level members’ appreciation event.

Also present were the movement’s chief commissioner Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil and SUPP Wanita chief Datin Jennifer Chee.
