Four killed in MPV-lorry collision
KUALA LUMPUR: Four men were killed and a woman was seriously injured in an accident involving an MPV and a 10-tonne lorry at Km16.8 of the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) near the exit to the Damansara toll plaza early yesterday. One person escaped unhurt. Petaling Jaya Police chief ACP Mohd Zani Che Din said the dead were Kun Ell Yin, 32; Kum Hok Wan, 36; Hong Ching Guan, 49; and the 52-year-old MPV driver who is yet to be identified. The injured woman is Ho Lai Lai, 41, and the identity of the one who escaped unhurt is still not known, he said.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Mohd Sani Harul said the accident occurred at 1.50am when the lorry hit the MPV after veering to the right to avoid a car with a punctured tyre, and crashed through the divider to the opposite side of the highway.
The deceased’s bodies were sent to University Malaya Medical Centre while Ho was sent to Sungai Buloh Hospital. – Bernama
