SETTLER’S SUIT AGAINST FELDA DISMISSED

TEMERLOH: The High Court here yesterday dismissed a suit filed by 492 settlers in Felda Bera against Felda and its subsidiary for fraud and breach of trust. Judge Hassan Abdul Ghani dismissed the suit on grounds that the plaintiffs failed to prove their claims and there was no supporting evidence. He also ordered the plaintiffs to pay RM405,500 in damages to the defendants, whereby 319 of the plaintiffs were to pay RM1,000 each, while the remaining 173 settlers, who withdrew as plaintiffs in the suit, RM500 each. – Bernama
