PETALING JAYA: A Form Four female student suffered a fractured shoulder after being assaulted by a classmate on Thursday.

Police later arrested a 16-year-old female student over the incident, that happened at about 10.45am at SMK Bandar Baru Sungai Buloh.

The assailant allegedly had an argument with the victim before punching her in the face and back.

When the victim fell, another female classmate intervened and pulled the assailant away.

The victim, accompanied by her family, later lodged a report at the Sungai Pelong police station.

She then sought treatment at the Sungai Buloh Hospital for a broken shoulder blade, bruised nose and swollen cheeks.

Initial investigations revealed the suspect was angry at the victim for refusing to be her friend.

Sungai Buloh police chief Supt Somu Subramaniam said the suspect was remanded for a day and freed on bail.
