KLANG: A woman allegedly staged her own kidnapping fearing her husband would find out about her affair with another man, said to be the “kidnapper”.

The drama unfolded when her husband, 55, could not locate his wife when he went to fetch her from her workplace on Friday.

North Klang district police chief ACP Mazelan Paijan said the husband normally dropped the 40-year-old woman, who is a cleaner in a school, at about 6.30am everyday.

“The man will then pick her up from the school at about 4.30pm. That was the routine. A police report was lodged subsequently. “The following day, on Saturday at about 8.30am, the man received a phone call from his wife’s handphone. The caller demanded RM5,000 ransom to secure her ‘release’,” said Mazelan.
